"A form of collective suicide": Sandrine Rousseau stunned by the moratorium on renewable energy voted on in the Assembly
Paris Green MP Sandrine Rousseau is in shock after another setback in the National Assembly for climate activists. Speaking on RMC, she protested that "climate skepticism" was taking hold and said François Bayrou was "driving a car with his eyes closed."

As MPs were examining a text on the energy future in France on Thursday evening, to everyone's surprise, they voted in favour of a moratorium on photovoltaics and wind turbines , thanks to the combined votes of the RN and LR (65 for, 62 against).

Sandrine Rousseau was outraged in the Chamber and still can't believe it on RMC this Friday.

"It's a form of collective suicide that we're organizing," she says in Apolline Matin.

The Green Party MP from Paris questions the psychological aspect of this choice to vote against scientific data. "We know, we have all the scientific studies, and we make decisions that go against it!" she says, taken aback.

"Meanwhile, in the Chamber, climate skepticism is triumphing, I don't understand... Taking responsibility for global warming isn't easy. Yes, I promise blood and tears, but I promise to do it in solidarity. I promise to fight to make the right change," she explains.

"Enough of this irresponsibility. Enough of this behavior of teenagers who don't want to face the problem. It's our children's lives."

She points out and regrets the absence of the Renaissance deputies, even if Jean-Philippe Tanguy savors his victory: "If you think that you should have voted differently, your deputies should have been there, but they are absent," he notes.

"For the past two or three weeks, the National Assembly has been falling apart," Sandrine Rousseau analyzes. "It's as if France doesn't have a government. François Bayrou is driving a car with his eyes closed, without direction, without direction..." she counters.
